The Chicago Bears designated nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon to return from injured reserve Monday.
The Chicago Bears could receive a boost in the secondary this week just in time for an NFC North matchup against the Minnesota Vikings — though whether they’ll have to face star wide receiver Justin Jefferson is in doubt. The Bears designated nickel Kyler Gordon to return from injured reserve Monday. The second-year cornerback had surgery on his broken hand after the season opener and missed the last four games. The Bears now have 21 days to put Gordon back on the 53-man roster.
While the Bears will be happy to get Gordon back whoever he is defending, Eberflus gave a shoutout to Greg Stroman Jr. for his “outstanding” performance filling in for Gordon on Thursday. Stroman, a Virginia native who was drafted by the Commanders, had seven tackles, a sack and an interception of Sam Howell — all in front of his family. “Mental reps and just making sure you’re listening when other guys are getting coached,” Stroman said of how he was able to step in when needed.
