We start with showers in the area. This will impact the morning commute, but rain will move out after about 9 a.m. leaving the rest of the day dry and rather cloudy.
The temperature at midnight was 70 and though should be the high for the day with temps climbing back into the upper 60s this afternoon.
Tonight a line of showers and possibly some thunder will move northbound through our viewing area. Temps stay in low 60s-warmer than the normal high this time of year. There may be a few showers early in the morning followed by some peeks of sun and highs in the low 70s. Showers move back in during the afternoon and evening with a small chance for some thunder as well. It will be breezy.
Friday will feature similar temperatures and scattered showers with a possible clap of thunder. Temps take a nosedive over the weekend with complete forecast model consensus that the chill arrives by Saturday. Highs will be in the low 50s with a few showers Saturday then a raw and rainy Sunday with highs in the upper 40s. Think THAT’S chilly? Wait until Monday and Halloween when the highs struggle to get much past 40. Chicago’s first fall freeze is likely during this time.
