The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a child's body in Hacienda Heights.
The body of a child was found on a hiking trial in Hacienda Heights early Tuesday, authorities said.
The body was found about 10 a.m. by workers who were landscaping on the hiking trail in the area of Hacienda Boulevard and Glenmark Drive, said Nicole Nishida, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.The child was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe the body was left at the location at least 24 hours earlier, authorities said.
