Key players have been sold and not adequately replaced
Outspoken pundit Chris Sutton has delivered his verdict on Leeds United's transfer business. With just over a week to go until the window shuts, Whites manager Daniel Farke has so far added four players to their ranks.
Key performers such as Archie Gray, Glen Kamara, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville have all been sold this summer and not adequately replaced. A host of fringe players have also departed to leave Farke with a small squad to choose from for an intense, gruelling Championship campaign. There is money available to be reinvested back into the team but there is a huge rebuilding job to be done before the 11pm transfer deadline a week on Friday.
Attacking duo Rutter and Summerville contributed 27 goals and 24 assists last term. Reinforcements are urgently required at the top end of the pitch to soften the blow of losing Rutter and Summerville. "You think it was disappointing last season losing in the manner you did, but then you sell all your best players, you don’t replace them and then you expect Daniel Farke to work miracles."
