Woman appears to have been driving drunk, authorities said.
A two-car crash last week killed a Lafayette woman and sent two other people to the hospital, authorities said.
A statement from the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office said 56-year-old Daneen Allenkiester of Lafayette appears to have been driving drunk when her car and another one collided around 10:47 a.m. on Dec. 24. The crash happened in the area of St. Marys Road and Glenside Drive.A driver of the other vehicle and at least one passenger in it suffered injuries that were deemed minor by authorities. Authorities did not say how many passengers were in the second vehicle.
