Nolan's sci-fi thriller starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson has been delayed three times. It was originally planned for release July 17, then pushed back twice, to July 31 and Aug. 12, before it was delayed again July 20. “We’re grateful for the support we’ve received from exhibitors and remain steadfast in our commitment to the theatrical experience around the world. Unfortunately, the pandemic continues to proliferate, causing us to re-evaluate our release dates," Toby Emmerich, chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, told USA TODAY in a statement announcing the delay.
The studio also announced that “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” has been postponed to June 4, 2021. The latest film in the horror franchise was expected Sept. 11. Also delayed:"The Broken Hearts Gallery," the romantic comedy executive produced by Selena Gomez. The movie previously pushed back from July 17 to Aug. 7 and is now on hold.
