The whistleblower's lawyer, Andrew P. Bakaj, said Trump's comments"that our client's identity will be disclosed publicly and that, as a result, our client will be put in harm's way."
On Monday, Grassley and another Republican senator, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, sent a letter to the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, Michael Atkinson, after a conservative media outlet reported thathad claimed the intelligence community"secretly gutted" a requirement that a whistleblower has to have first-hand knowledge of the alleged wrongdoing. The Ukraine whistleblower's complaint is comprised of mostly information the person was told by other officials.
