Chula Vista mayoral candidate John McCann slammed his opponent Campa-Najjar, saying his campaign funds come from parties whose motivations are to funnel the homeless out of San Diego and INTO Chula Vista. Full interview:
CHULA VISTA – With midterms approaching, the mayoral race in Chula Vista is getting hairy.
Tuesday, Aug. 30 Ammar Campa-Najjar joined “Good Morning San Diego” to discuss his platform as well as the ongoing homelessness crisis. Wednesday, Aug 31 his opponent, John McCann, who has served the city for nearly 20 years, joined Paul Rudy to do the same. According to McCann, Campa-Najjar has displayed inconsistency in his stance on Harborside park, endorsing a park closure while in attendance of his first ever CV city counsel meeting, and then promptly criticizing the closure on KUSI on Aug. 30.
McCann claims Campa-Najjar is being backed by third party actor’s whose motivations are to funnel the homeless out of northern areas of San Diego and into Chula Vista.
