Cillian Murphy is the frontrunner for the Best Actor Oscar for his role in Christopher Nolan's film Oppenheimer. He has won most of the major precursor awards and is expected to be challenged by Paul Giamatti for The Holdovers. The other nominees include Bradley Cooper, Colman Domingo, and Jeffrey Wright.
The best actor Oscar will be handed out soon, and most prognosticators will be very surprised if it’s not handed to Cillian Murphy for “ Oppenheimer .” The 47-year-old Irish actor got his first nomination for playing the title role in Christopher Nolan ’s film, and won most of the major precursor awards. If anyone is expected to challenge him, it’s Paul Giamatti for “ The Holdovers .” It would also be his first Oscar.
The other nominees are Bradley Cooper for “Maestro,” Colman Domingo for “Rustin” and Jeffrey Wright, “American Fiction.
