The final preparations for Opening Day are underway.Signs line the streets near Findlay Market signal that the Opening Day parade is just hours away.
“We’ve got about 160 floats and entries tomorrow, 20 marching bands, horses floats of all kinds,” said Stewart.The parade begins at Findlay Market and goes all the way up Race Street past Fountain Square, before ending at Taft Theatre. “It’s a time where all of us can get together and be excited that spring has begun and really just try and enjoy everyone’s company and rally around everyone and our team,” said Stewart.Meanwhile at The Banks, Sparling said the staff's spent weeks preparing for the thousands of people expected to flood the popular riverside hotspot.
“You’re talking about a couple hundred-thousand people converging Downtown and supporting The Reds, it’s a big day. It’s a special day,” said Sparling.“On Opening Day, they’ll have support trucks for us because we don’t have nearly enough room to stock the beer that we’re gonna go through,” said Sparling. “Cases and cases and cases, they’ll pull of sometimes pallet at time so we can get them in here.
