Readers have expressed anger that the city council will not host a screening of the World Cup final
Readers have been expressing their disappointment that Nottingham City Council will not be hosting a special screening of the World Cup final at the weekend. The authority said it was busy with preparations for the Nottingham Carnival and that the cost of a screening would be "prohibitive."
Commenting on Facebook, Margaret Mantle wrote: "No surprise there. If it had been a men’s football game. They would have done it." Kim Poole agreed, writing: "This is not a surprise one rule for men’s football another for the women’s just another way of saying women do not matter."
