People enjoy Exploration Green, a park created on a former golf course and built in phases in Clear Lake.A nature preserve in the heart of Clear Lake City is seeking volunteers to help spur further growth.
The Jan. 21 event will wrap up planting activity for Phase 4 of the project, which is for an area between Reseda Drive and Neptune Lane. “We don’t let people randomly plant trees," he said."We have groups of people that are led by a experienced tree planters that have worked with us in the past.”“We have two years left for the big plantings, and then it will be maintenance going forward from there,” Sommer said.“For a project like this, we expect about 10 percent loss per year, and we are well under that,” Sommer said.
