Five specialized machines began pumping hundreds of tons of artificial snow. Decades later, Knievel’s show featured the “world’s richest” demolition derby with a Rolls Royce and Lincoln Continental smashing into each other. His motorcycle jump over a low pyramid of 50 cars looked almost too easy, prompting grumbles in the stands. He said: “Did they come to see me die?”
