An accident on the A14 in Northamptonshire involving five cars caused traffic issues on Friday afternoon. National Highways Traffic Officers were on the scene of the smash.
According to National Highways East Midlands, as of 1pm there were delays of 30 mins and approximately five miles of congestion. Their official account tweeted: "Lane two is closed on the #A14"National Highways Traffic Officers are currently on scene. There are currently delays of 30 mins and approx.
Travel alert provider Inrix added: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident. Five cars involved on A14 Westbound from J1 A5199 to M1 J19 . Lane two is closed." Elsewhere in the county, there was also slow traffic due to accident on A428 in both directions between West Haddon Road and Sandy Lane.Inrix has said the traffic is easing following the earlier accident
