Problem solved! A car abandoned for months was towed by the city after neighbors called 6 On Your Side Problem Solvers.
"It's been six months," homeowner Mike Locicero said on Tuesday. "I was beginning to have my doubts."that had been dumped in front of his home along Blue Rock Boulevard after he said he made repeated calls to Columbus Police and 311 starting in December of 2022.
When Problem Solvers contacted Columbus police in May about the abandoned SUV, a spokesperson sent this statement via email: Towing restrictions were first implemented back in 2020 to help address lot capacity and reissued again in 2023. An officer will respond and address each incident appropriately. This may include an attempt to locate the owner or operator and prompt them to move the vehicle or the issuance of a citation, instead of having the vehicle towed.Other neighbors along Blue Rock Blvd. told Problem Solvers that CPD's statistics regarding 300 weekly tows were creating their own feelings of abandonment.
