Jaguars rookie LB Devin Lloyd and Jamal Agnew grew up in San Diego County. They fueled a Week 3 win over Team Spanos.

A pair of San Diegans with the Jaguars were part of their team’s 38-10 victory over the Chargers in September.

Devin Lloyd’s 61-snap performance earned the Otay Ranch High School alum an A-grade — second among Jags defenders — from Pro Football Focus. The rookie linebacker picked off Justin Herbert’s deflected pass and broke up two other passes in the Kroenke Dome. University of San Diego alum Jamal Agnew, a Point Loma High School graduate, caught a pass for 17 yards and served as a speed-threat decoy.Herbert was visibly uncomfortable Sept. 25, having sustained a ribcage injury 10 days earlier. Antonio Gates used to say pain-blocking injections to the ribcage could hit or miss the appropriate spot. For Herbert, it appeared to miss. The following week’s injection seemed “a hit” — what Gates would call “magic” — as Herbert played well at Houston.

Lloyd played in all 17 games, finishing with 115 combined tackles , three interceptions, nine quarterback hurries and a sack. Opposite Herbert, he defended multiple passes to both receiver Joshua Palmer and running back Austin Ekeler. This time Lloyd may have to contest Donald Parham, a 6-foot-8 ½ tight end.

Agnew, who’ll face a much-improved defense, caught 23 of 30 targets this season. Three receptions went for touchdowns. With kickoff returns of 52 and 54 yards, he set up touchdowns that began comebacks from double-digit deficits, leading to victories.defensive quarterbacking supported the Rams’ Super Bowl run, the 49ers will turn to signal-calling LB
