Comedian Gallagher has died in California earlier this morning aged 76.
Comedian Gallagher has died at the age of 76, it has been claimed.
He first stepped into the spotlight in December, 1975, appearing on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, and would go on to perform on the series many times. He would always end the segment with a huge watermelon, with those in the first few rows of the audience donning raincoats and ponchos to protect themselves from the mess.The first special, titled An Uncensored Evening, aired in 1980. He went on to perform in 1984’s Melon Crazy, We Need A Hero, in 1992, and Smashing Cheeseheads, in 1997, among many others.
