People and businesses with inadquate cover can claim compensation through the scheme.
Homeowners and businesses affected by recent disorder and rioting will be able to claim compensation, even if they did not have insurance.
Announced by the Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner Matt Storey, the claims must be in relation to disorder in Hartlepool on 31 July and Middlesbrough on 4 August. The Cleveland scheme is open for those who were not insured or have been refused compensation from insurance companies.
