The key south Liverpool road will be shut for the foreseeable future after serious damage from recent flooding
Concerns and questions have been raised after images highlighted extensive damage to an area of south Liverpool that has been blighted by flooding. It was flooding in an area of Queens Drive in Mossley Hill that led to the tragic deaths of Elaine and Philip Marco in August last year. The married couple , aged 75 and 77, died after their car became submerged in water on August 26, prompting a major investigation and extensive work being carried out in the area.
Who did this work, and how much were they paid for it? Who is responsible for signing that off as good?' In response, Liverpool City Council said: 'There remains outstanding repairs due to the flood damage, which United Utilities are undertaking. We are in contact with United Utilities to understand the scope and scale of these works and when the road can be reopened.' The city council said it will provide further updates in due course.
