Travelers planning to hit the road for the Thanksgiving holiday may be able to fill up their tanks for less.

SAUDI ARABIA DECLARES NATIONAL HOLIDAY AFTER SHOCKING VICTORY OVER ARGENTINA

The special price will be available Nov. 21-28 at stores that offer Unleaded 88. Headquartered in Pennsylvania, Sheetz has locations in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and North Carolina. The promotion will not be available in West Virginia because state law prohibits the sale of fuel below cost, WSAZ reported.

“We are excited to extend this offer to our customers as many of them start hitting the road for the Thanksgiving holiday,” Travis Sheetz, president and CEO, said in a news release. The lower gas prices come at a time when the national average cost of gas is $3.61 per gallon. This time last year, the national average was $3.40 a gallon, according to AAA.

Consumers also are seeing higher prices at the grocery store. The average cost of a Thanksgiving meal for 10 will be around $64.05, up from last year’s price of $53.31, according to a recent report from the American Farm Bureau Federation.
