The owner of the car was inside the mini-mart at a Mobil gas station on the 400 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 when the the theft took place,The carjacker drove off when the man noticed him and tried to re-enter the car, police said. Police said the thief was wearing a gray vest, a black sweater with white draw strings and a BMW logo on the chest, a black ski mask, black Adidas sweat pants with a white vertical line along his leg and light-colored sneakers
Anyone with information is asked to call the police department’s crime stopper tip line at 1-877-695-8477. All anonymous crime stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
