Officers locked down Brookfield Road in Port Glasgow after a 27-year-old man was discovered at around 9.05pm on Saturday.
Police are treating the death of a man who was found with serious injuries in a common close as "suspicious".
Police have now confirmed they are treating the death as suspicious. An extensive investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of what happened and officers are appealing for information. “We’d be keen to view any doorbell/private CCTV or dashcam footage from the area and between 8.30pm and 9.15pm on Saturday, just in case footage has been caught that would identify any suspects. There will be an increased police presence in the area as our enquiries continue."
