Coronation Street viewers finally found out who was behind Lauren Bolton's disappearance and murder as the soap's special week of episodes continued
Coronation Street has unveiled the character responsible for Lauren Bolton's disappearance and presumed murder, as the actor portraying him voices his fear.
However, shortly afterwards, an unknown individual visited the teen at her home, who viewers never saw, and she hasn't been seen since. Roy was incarcerated awaiting trial after being accused of Lauren's murder when blood was discovered in her flat. A flashback clip revealed him as Lauren's secret 'boyfriend' and showed him violently attacking her. Following the scenes that confirmed a long-standing fan theory, actor Calum Lill, who joined Corrie last year as Dee-Dee Bailey's love interest, shared his feelings about the public finally knowing the truth.
Discussing his reaction to the twist with Joel, Calum said: "I felt a huge weight of responsibility on my shoulders to do well and not give it away and not play some cliche, because the things Joel has done have happened to people in real life. So I had meetings with charities and did research. I watched documentaries and read psychological papers to create as much truth as possible.
