Coronation Street star Vicky Entwistle has joined the search for missing 19 year old Jay Slater after revealing he is her godmother's grandson and is now offering new hope
Vicky Entwistle, known for her role as Janice Battersby in ITV soap Coronation Street , has provided an update on the search for missing teenager Jay Slater, who is her godmother's grandson. The youngster, 19, vanished after reportedly telling friends he was in the "middle of nowhere" while attending a music festival in Tenerife.
Jay was last seen in a grey sports top with a light green strip on its shoulders and carrying a black bag. He hails from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire.Jay's mother has expressed regret over encouraging her son to take a holiday to Tenerife, as the search for the missing apprentice bricklayer continues into its fourth day. The initial search efforts focused on Rural Teno Park, a hilly region favoured by walkers, with Santiago del Teide being the nearest town.
As word spread, Vicky received an outpouring of support from well-wishers. One sympathetic follower posted: "Saw this on Facebook Vicky, it seems to be getting shared far and wide, hopefully there will be some good news imminently with all the love and support out there, just makes it so much harder when abroad! Love and prayers for you all."Jay has been unaccounted for since roughly 8am on Monday June 17, after heading to the island for a music event.
A dedicated Facebook group, which already has over 40,000 members, has shared a Snapchat video of Jay in the hope that someone might recognise him. The post accompanying the video said: "This is a clear video of what Jay was wearing the night he went missing. All of our family and friends are so worried, we're all just praying and hoping he gets found soon unharmed."
