Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank is hoping for change after being hit by a hefty bill following an "unfortunate incident". The actor appeared on ITV 's Lorraine to chat about his current emotional soap storyline when he was also asked about a recent incident with his beloved pet dog.
Then, in February 2020, Daniel and Colin got a friend, Jean, when Daniel again used the Dog's Trust for their support and almost this time last year, he revealed that his brood of four-legged companions had grown again as he introduced the newest member to the clan, Dorris. Daniel was full of praise for the care and treatment she received but was left utterly shocked at the price, which initially started at £500 to admit his pet dog to the out-of-hours vet. He said that they were then told the bill had risen by another £1500 for the treatment they carried out - including using on oxygen tent - before they were told it would be another £600 as they wanted to keep Jean in for another night of observations.
A statement from the British Veterinary Association in response said: "Vets provide highly specialised, tailored medical care for the UK's animals and whilst we understand prices can seem costly, like all businesses, vey practices need to charge appropriately to ensure they can remain financially viable, open and ready to treat animals coming through their doors with a whole range of medical issues.
