The walls are again closing in on Stephen Reid just as he gets his feet back under someone else's table with a new romance in Coronation Street. It comes as he looks close to being found out after pictures seemingly confirmed a potential exit for the unsuspecting serial killer as one of his victim's bodies is found.
In the meantime, Sarah's grandmother Audrey Roberts shows daughter Gail Rodwell a statement from an equity release company. But afterwards, discovering that Gail and Audrey knew about Gabrielle’s treatment of Stephen, Sarah decides to give the woman a call.
Sarah then finds him at the hotel and threatens to call the police believing he is about to pull a fast one on the deal. Meanwhile, when Carla meets up with Lou she is shocked to hear about Rufus dabbling with LSD. When she describes his symptoms it resonates with Carla and as viewers know, Stephen was drugging Carla which lead to her and her family thinking her psychosis had returned and she left Weatherfield to seek help.
