A councillor has quit TUV following an allegation of "harassment" by a female member, the party has said.
In a statement, TUV said his resignation came ahead of the conclusion of an internal probe into a complaint of harassment against the Comber area councillor. A party spokesman said: "Councillor Stephen Cooper of Ards and North Down council has resigned from TUV. "Upon being furnished with the statement of complaint Councillor Cooper advised party officers in a written statement that he apologised for any actions which have caused hurt or distress to the complainant.
