Christopher Christensen had pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of child abuse and battery before authorities say he jumped to his death from a Disneyland parking structure.
Counselors fanned out to Fountain Valley School District campuses on Monday, Dec. 5, the first day back for grieving students and employees following, who police believe intentionally jumped to his death from a parking structure at Disneyland on Saturday.
Joy Moyers, a school district spokeswoman, said Monday that she was not authorized to discuss how counselors are explaining Christensen’s death to young children, nor would she commit to when anyone who is authorized would be available. Christensen had pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor child abuse and misdemeanor battery on a spouse or co-habitant, Orange County Superior Court records show. He was due to appear in court on Monday.
Christensen’s attorney, Ruben David Frias, declined to comment Monday beyond saying, “It’s a horrible situation.”before heading back to Washington. My husband and 11 year old son witnessed a man jump off the parking structure and land 10 feet in front of them and the crossing guard. They are mortified at what they saw and heard. 💔Christensen was a noted local cellist who owned Seaside Strings in Huntington Beach, which provides string ensembles for weddings and other events.
Sisters Iris and Blanca Ornelas of Long Beach said in an interview that Christensen was a positive influence on them when they were his music students in Long Beach some 25 years ago and then later in life.
