Samantha and Gary Stevens say brides will get a VIP experience at the new shop
A married couple will open a new bridal shop in a "quirky and old worldie" location after both embarking on dramatic career changes to launch the business.
The couple say the new shop, which opens on Thursday , will offer a range of luxury wedding dresses and accessories.. Offering two hour slots for brides and their guests, the shop also boasts an upstairs studio where brides can try on dresses in the ideal environment.The move into the bridal business marks a major change for the couple who previously had very different jobs. Gary spent four decades working in the legal industry while Samantha had been working in the health care sector.
The couple originally considered opening a café but decided it wasn't the right move and instead decided to look at weddings. Samantha already had a qualification in wedding planning and after returning to their own venue of West Tower for the first of a series of wedding fayres, they soon came up with the plan of the bridal shop. Coupled with the location at Mystic Mews in the town centre and with car parking, they knew they had found their ideal plan.
Samantha said: "It's like a VIP experience which is what's it's about for us. It's that experience for the bride and the family and friends who come with them." She added that the new shop will feel more like a boutique for customers compared to the bigger companies.
