Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot combined for three drops in the Sunday night season-opening win against the Giants.
“He did it with Dalton [Schultz],” Hendershot said of Wells, who previously dropped a bucket of balls in front of the former Cowboys tight end. “He was saying don’t be too hard on yourself. Just put in the daily deposits and keep grinding and you’re going to be fine.”Advertisement
Hendershot had no catches in the season opener and was targeted just once, resulting in a drop. Ferguson had two catches for 11 yards on seven targets. In the run game, both players did a nice job at blocking, with Ferguson completing a block on a 25-yard run from“I blocked pretty decent, definitely some stuff I need to work on in that sense,” Ferguson said. “In the receiving game, my job is to catch the ball and it comes to meeting the ball. Dak [Prescott] was throwing good balls and they were on me. I just got to come down with those.
“You’re upset because you believe you’re that type of player, obviously an average player is going to drop that ball, but we all believe we’re top-notch guys,” Hendershot said. “Just trust in yourself and be that guy who makes those plays.”
