For their CPHFW debut, NYNNE presented contemporary feminine classics, inspired by contrasting experiences of summer.
It may be designed a year ahead, but the SS21 proposition from NYNNE strikes a chord with the current climate of enduring the hot summer in a familiar setting.
Inspired by her staycations in the Danish countryside and the contrast of buzzing Copenhagen to the stillness of summer house living, designer Nynne Kunde repackaged her trademark silhouettes with a perfect blend of softness and edge for her Copenhagen Fashion Week debut. Those, who are familiar with NYNNE’s signature cinched waistline and elaborate ruching on tops and dresses will not be disappointed. Thehas made a comeback in a crisp, midsummer white and yellow gold, and has quickly become our favourite piece.
As we discuss colours, we cannot leave out the eggshell blue, which made an appearance on the more structured, occasion dress and top - can we get more of that fabric, please? As the colour palette goes back to neutral, that’s also where NYNNE explores heavier pieces and throws in a bit of masculinity to counteract the reign of dresses.
As far as feminine collections are considered, NYNNE did a great job on reflecting wearable trends using sustainable fabrics and strong design. We may not fully agree with the brand’s idea to “take the [pieces] from day-to-night with the change of an accessory”, but with different pairings this is a very transitional offering indeed.
