Fierce, quirky and colourful. Stine Goya’s SS21 collection is a celebration of diversity and inclusivity.
The fierceness and quirkiness of her universe makes us wonder what the next seasons will hold, and every season, she cultivates our interest, and keeps the curiosity alive. Her latest collection ‘Joy’ which she presented at Copenhagen Fashion Week, did not disappoint as we were taken into a world of bright colours, unexpected pairings, and diverse castings.
We were first introduced to the collection via film, where we stepped into a world inspired by the saturated palette of the Fauvism art movement, born in France in the early 20th century.
Goya’s signature colour palette was crafted into abstract and geometric prints - including a stunning hand-made watercolour one - and presented in flowing fabrics with clean lines. I love how the crazy prints are balanced with minimalist shapes, to make the gorgeours pieces wearable for day-to-day living, with a selection of dresses, tailoring and outerwear available for the season.
Even if the collection features a rainbow palette and compendium of patterns, there is still a cohesive red-thread that comes from the brand’s very core: the joy that exists in living life. The result? An uplifting line-up, that effectively conveys its intention to uplift the wearer, and puts them on a pedestal of colourful happiness; something that matters even more in light of 2020.
