The 27-year-old from Tebay was emotional during the episode and again when she was told she was leaving the tent as she struggled with the challenge of making a stunning centre piece out of bread
Abbi was the third person to leave the Great British Bake Off tent last night when her baking skills fells short of the rest. The bakers were asked to make a visually pleasing plaited bread masterpiece, using two types of flour, with many choosing between sweet or savoury ingredients. Bread week was a chance for bakers to show-off their incredibly technical skills and intricate plaited detailing to Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.
And in a letter shared with fans via social media after her exit, she wrote: “What an incredible thing to do, bake cakes in a tent! I’ve had a truly wonderful time and met some absolutely amazing and talented people. Yorkshire-born Abbi first learned to bake alongside her mum, honing those early skills during her teens, when she became enthralled by the Victorian era and especially the traditional bakes of the time – steamed puddings, fruit cakes and more. Now she takes her inspiration from her environment and the beautiful English countryside around her home.
