Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins will not travel to Denver for rescheduled game
LOS ANGELES — With a loss to the Lakers on Saturday, the Warriors have lost four straight and are tumbling in the Western Conference standings. But the Warriors aren’t going to risk starters’ health to play a rescheduled game in Denver on Monday.
Klay Thompson, Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins will head back to the Bay Area following a team practice in Los Angeles on Sunday while the rest of the team travels to Denver on Monday morning. The game on March 7 is a rescheduled game from Jan. 3 against the Nuggets. The game was postponed when Denver couldn’t provide enough players to participate due to health and safety protocols and injuries.
“The decision was pretty easy,” head coach Steve Kerr said on Saturday. “Throwing that game into the schedule the way they did after the game was postponed. Three games in four nights, two of those games in Denver going back-and-forth, we’re not going to put our high minutes guys at risk.”
