Target has tapped Cushnie, Lisa Marie Fernandez, and LoveShackFancy for under-$100 capsule collections.
. “The Designer Dress Collection” consists of some 70 dresses ranging in price from $40 to $60. The idea was to partner with three female-led labels in an effort to expand Target’s fashion offering to include a wider range of styles, silhouettes, and sizing .
Carly Cushnie’s dresses hew to her signature body-flattering lines; Rebecca Hessel Cohen’s LoveShackFancy frocks come embellished with ruffles and micro florals; and Lisa Marie Fernandez cut flowy beach dresses in a variety of happy prints and colors. For Fernandez, the collaboration is a celebration of sorts of her label’s 10-year anniversary. “We’ve been working on this for over a year and it’s been an incredible experience,” she said.
It’s a challenging time to be launching anything, with legacy department stores declaring bankruptcy and retailers of all sizes facing a very uncertain future. That being said, more people than ever are shopping online at Target and there’s no doubt that making a hopeful—and affordable—purchase can spark joy.
