The premium live auction sale raised a total of $505,450, and $146,126 was raised from freezer sales. An additional $28,000 was raised through agricultural mechanics and a horticulture silent auction, the press release details. Students were given awards for their goats, steers, turkeys and other livestock, which were also sold to members of the community.
Cypress Woods High School senior Sophie Gunderson, left, had the Grand Champion Horticulture project at the CFISD Livestock Show Association Show and Sale, which sold for $6,500 to Cypress Signs & Graphics. The amount was among two new champion sale records set at the 2023 event.“It never gets old,” Denise Kubecka, director of career and technical education for CFISD, said in the release.
