A cyclist has died after being struck by a HGV while cycling in the Bearsden area yesterday morning, Tuesday March 19.
Emergency services attended and the 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene after she collided with the lorry on Manse Road, just after the junction with Drymen Road, at around 8.10am. Police and medics swarmed the area with two ambulances, two special operations response teams, and a trauma team called out.READ MORE: Tributes paid to much-loved Glasgow law student Nick Fish after body discoveredThe road was closed to motorists for over four hours while investigations were carried out. Now, Road Policing officers are appealing to the public for information following the fatal crash.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the families and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.“I would urge anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the crash and witnessed what took place, or has any dashcam footage which could assist, to please get in touch with officers.”
