35-year-old Rob Davies, from the West Coast of Scotland, decided to take a gamble and purchase the £3,000 dilapidated property in Bulgaria after finding himself unable to get on the property ladder in his local area.
A dad has snapped up a £3,000 six-room house in Bulgaria after growing frustrated with the UK housing crisis.
The 35-year-old's story was told in the latest series of Channel 4's Help! I Bought A Village, which returns tonight at 5pm. Rob's new house, which is detached and rests on half an acre of land, is said to have been built over 100 years ago - but since the 1980s it has lain empty and derelict and abandoned.
