A Dallas police officer fatally shot a dog Sunday in northwest Dallas after the dog bit a different officer, department officials said. Officers came across the dog while responding to a disturbance call about 8:35 p.m. in the 2900 block of Clydedale Drive, near Harry Hines Boulevard and West Northwest Highway, police said. The dog lunged at an officer and bit him on his left forearm, police said. Another officer then opened fire, killing the dog, police said.Authorities said the dog was not a stray, and its owner is aware that it was killed. No charges were filed in connection with the attack, a police spokesman said.
