Freelance reporter and late editorGuests attending a Hogmanay celebration at an Aberdeenshire pub and hotel were left stunned when two famous faces dropped in for an impromptu piano performance.and Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri were spotted belting out a rendition of Abba’s hit “Waterloo” at The Fife Arms in Braemar.
The performance, which came after guests enjoyed a dinner and ceilidh, came shortly before the midnight fireworks welcomed in the new year. Spiteri, 55, sang the chorus, as Dame Judi, 88, appeared to play the piano and added some backing vocals.
However, eagled-eyed viewers noticed that Dame Judi might not be the pianist she initially appeared, with various notes on the instrument playing all by themselves. One Twitter user tweeted: “Did no one else notice that this was a self-playing piano? The keys are moving by themselves and Dame Judi is acting wonderfully well! .”
