Concerns are rising over the whereabouts of missing British teenager Jay Slater - who was last located on Monday morning on the popular tourist island of Tenerife. The extensive search operation for the 19-year-old from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, has entered its fourth day.
Since his disappearance, the distraught mum has been plagued by prank calls from individuals pretending to have her son. Most recently, she disclosed she received a chilling Snapchat message reading 'kiss goodbye to your boy', alleging Jay owed the sender 'lots of money'. The crime report, published by the Ministry of the Interior, recorded 71,053 criminal offences on the Islands up to the end of September 2022 - 11,675 more than in the same period in the previous year, when 59,378 crimes were registered.
They said the scam was focused around the Adeje and Arona areas - which include Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. Cops had been investigating the gang since 2022 after they became aware mostly elderly foreign tourists were falling victim to the scam. Top news stories today The National Police arrested seven English citizens, between 21 and 34 years old, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of injuries. The detainees, during a brawl outside the nightlife establishment, allegedly caused serious injuries to three other of their compatriots, with one of the victims losing three teeth as a result of the attack.
