Darrell Davis reflects on what it means to have a player of Connor Bedard's calibre, yet still have the Pats get knocked out of playoffs.
“I don’t have any regrets staying here,” Bedard said earlier this week as the Pats cleaned out their lockers and met once more with coaches and teammates while the WHL postseason continued without them.
The Pats didn’t even make the playoffs in 2021-22, Bedard’s second season. As a rookie his team was stuck playing an abridged schedule in a pandemic-mandated bubble. Now he’s headed home, vowing to get better, with the possibility of representing Canada at international hockey tournaments during the next six weeks.
Bedard ultimately scored 10 of Regina’s 26 goals in the Saskatoon series, assisted on 10 others, won 117 faceoffs and was plus-8.
