Dave Filoni confirms the villains' lightsabers in Ahsoka are orange and teases a deeper meaning to this color. The Ahsoka trailer debuted at Star Wars Celebration with the return of fan favorites including Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, and Grand Admiral Thrawn. However, the new villains, Baylon and Shin, caught fans' attention when they were shown wielding orange lightsabers instead of the red that villains traditionally use in Star Wars.
The lightsaber color has been fiercely debated by fans, but Filoni settled the argument once and for all when speaking with Screen Rant after the Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration. Filoni officially confirms that Shin and Baylon are using orange sabers. He also teases a deeper significance to this color, saying that "Nothing is accidental."

Ahsoka features the return of a number of Star Wars characters from Clone Wars and Rebels, continuing the story that was teased in the Rebels series finale. Part of what makes Shin and Baylon so intriguing is that they are two of the few new characters in this series.
