The new Hibees gaffer is bringing his pal on board from Callum Davidson's Spiders where he is currently No2.
He will make the move from Queen’s Park, where he has been assistant manager to Callum Davidson . It is the first key figure that Gray has been able to confirm as he looks to build a new coaching staff. Gray is close to the current Spiders No.2 from their time together at Hibs and have remained friends.
Craig has also had experience in terms of coaching and player recruitment from his previous stint with Davidson at St Johnstone. The new Easter Road gaffer is still looking to bring in a goalkeeping coach and assistant manager. He tried to hire Liam Fox as his No. 2 but was knocked back after Hearts offered their B coach an improved deal. Aberdeen goalkeeping coach Craig Samson has also been linked with a return to Hibs.
Craig's departure for the capital will see Spiders boss Davidson beef up his own backroom options with the appointment of Barry Nicholson and Steven MacLean. The former St Johnstone boss is ready to take Nicholson on as his assistant and MacLean as a first-team coach. Nicholson has previously had coaching stints at Fleetwood Town and more recently Nottingham Forest. MacLean is set to return to the game after his short stint as Saints manager.
He had previously been right hand man to Davidson at Saints before he stepped up to the main job. MacLean left McDiarmid Park in October.
