Tai and Naiyahmi Yasharahyalah are accused of allowing or causing the death of their three-year-old son, Abiyah
The prosecution suggested that Abiyah died between December 2019 and January 2020 and would have been approximately three years and nine months old. The court heard the couple did not believe in western medicine and preferred traditional practices, such as herbs and superstition.Witness statements read to the court said the couple had rejected UK sovereignty and citizenship, and were living off-grid.
She was told: "I can freely search and I believe that I've found photos of you and Tai from some time ago with a child."PA MediaThe court heard that emails sent between the pair on the same day, to and from the same email address, said: "You have no other children make this clear he is your only child."
An email from that day also said that they should say that Abiyah was "one of the victims of the Covid agenda".Between 12 and 15 December, Abiyah's body was exhumed from a garden on Clarence Road in Handsworth, from which the couple had been evicted earlier that year.
