Huawei will now develop alternative sources of component supply for everything that it makes. They would be foolish not to. It may take them several years to replace everything from U.S. sources, but they will get there. They have tremendous engineering capabilities, and they have the will. Huawei is already a powerful competitor today, and this will make it stronger.

This was no doubt to remind the U.S. and the world that China is by far the dominant supplier of these critical materials.
