Youth Climate activist Greta Thunberg speaks during the UN Climate Action Summit on Sept. 23, 2019 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.A death metal remix of climate activist Greta Thunberg's now-iconic speech at the UN Climate Summit will now help accomplish the very thing the Swedish teen set out to do with her impassioned address urging the world's political leaders to get moving on combating climate change.
The single's release is accompanied by a campaign from Despotz using the hashtag #GREENMETAL, urging metal fans worldwide to mobilize and make history by pushing "How Dare You" onto thesingles chart. "A week ago, Greta Thunberg gave a speech to the world leaders at the opening of the UN Climate Summit in New York," reads a note from the label.
”Greta says it better than neither we on this label nor any other adult so far has been able to say it, so one of the best things we can do is to use our platform for spreading her own words. We stand united with her in her quest and are grateful for a chance to contribute in any way!” adds the Despotz statement, adding, “To be fair, Greta embodies rock music in its full meaning. She is uncompromising, tough as hell and doesn’t give a shit about what people think of her.
