Deathstroke's iconic orange and black costume helps make him one of DC's coolest villains, but the best version of his armor actually exists in a parallel dimension - one in which Deathstroke is a truly irredeemable killer who works with no restraints.
The “evil” edition of Deathstroke’s costume is among the best he has had in the DC Universe. Although Slade Wilson has always been a villain, there’s an alternate, more sinister version of the character with a better suit design.
Slade Wilson has worn many costumes through his comic book history, ranging from a bulkier, swashbuckling look in his early days fighting the Teen Titans, to a sleeker, refined look as he has taken on Green Arrow and Batman. Although every artist has their own rendition of the suit, his general appearance hasn’t been altered much.
The alternate armor represents Deathstroke’s wide range of skills as an assassin. Although he looks cool and modernized, it doesn’t compromise the villainous characterization that his double receives. If the current canon take on Slade Wilson fully embraces his role as an antagonist in a story pitting him against the Teen Titans or the Dark Knight, it’s worth DC’s consideration to alter the suit in a similar fashion.
When he reveals his full costume in the issue, the alternate Slade holds his sword casually behind his back, lifting a gun. The design of his helmet is less “human” in its appearance, adding a sense of mystery that anyone could be underneath. The eyes of the mask make him seem angry, and no longer resemble the white eyes of his original suit seen in comics. In contrast, his first costume was closer in design to a superhero than the villain that the alternate Deathstroke appears to be.
