And while I know I may catch the age-old argument of “she’s leveraging identity politics” by writing this article, I would like to submit a point of consideration to the readers. White, cisgender, heterosexual, Christian, and male are all identities. Those identities have dominated our government for centuries. It’s time for us to shatter the binary and shift the paradigm of what leadership looks like in this country.
