Cold, wintry weather is hanging on in the metro area, with snow in the forecast starting late in the day Sunday and into Monday.
On Saturday in Denver skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temperature will top out near 32 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight in Denver skies will be partly cloudy and the low will be around 15 degrees.
There’s a chance of light snow in the mountains on Saturday, about 2-inches accumulation, with a chance of snow on the Eastern Plains as the storm system moves into Kansas and weakens, the weather service said. After light snow Sunday night/Monday, drier weather/warming trend is expected thru Friday. Looking further ahead, the 8-14 day outlook suggests continued below normal temperatures and equal chances for above/below normal precipitation.
